Gerald Scarfe exhibition

The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge (a two minute walk from The Falstaff) has a dedicated exhibition showing the extensive but little-known production designs by celebrated political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe.

Scarfe had a 50-year career at the Sunday Times but is less well-known for his contribution to the performing arts, designing for productions such as The Nutcracker (English National Ballet), The Magic Flute (Los Angeles’ Opera), Disney’s Hercules and Pink Floyd’s film adaptation of The Wall.

‘Gerald Scarfe – Stage and Screen’ runs at The Beaney until Sunday 16 June and entry is free.
