October 2018 newsletter

Greetings Falstaffians!

As memories of our glorious summer fade and the nights start drawing in, Canterbury is gearing up for an exciting period leading up to the festive season!

The final countdown is on for this year’s Canterbury Festival – one of the most exciting annual events in the South East – which runs from this October 2018 newsletter The FalstaffSaturday, 20th October to 3rd November. The city will be teeming with talent for the fortnight, with a galaxy of stars providing entertainment of all tastes, including music, dance, talks and comedy. Rooms at the Falstaff over the festival period start at just £85.00 per night for a double room and you can check our availability here.

Among the global superstars headlining the festival are The Christians, The October 2018 newsletter The FalstaffFeeling and Sophie Ellis-Bextor (who will be performing with a full band and string section). The classical offering features the wonderful Sir Bryn Terfel and Dame Evelyn Glennie, internationally-renowned violinist Rachel Podger and pianist Melvyn Tan. Sharing the spotlight with the famous are some of Kent’s most talented young performers, many making their professional debut.

With so much to see and do, you will undoubtedly need some downtime. This can be spent in The Falstaff’s bar, sampling our new cocktail menu which is based on a favourite childhood game featuring London landmarks. October 2018 newsletter The FalstaffWe heartily recommend ‘Whitehall’ – Ocho Blanco Tequila, Briottet Peach Liqueur, Champagne acids, white sugar syrup and egg white. It almost looks too good to drink (almost). Alternatively, you may opt for a full afternoon tea relaxing in our comfortable lounge – in the words of one of our Instagram followers, “Is there any greater pleasure?”

Looking further towards Christmas, we still have some availability for Christmas Parties (please contact us for details) and the annual pantomime returns to the Marlowe Theatre on Friday 23rd November. Cinderella features a host of household names and tickets can be booked directly from the Marlowe.

We hope to see you in Canterbury soon!

With very best wishes,
The Falstaff
