Whitstable

The "Pearl of Kent" is perhaps most famous for its oysters and seafood, with the annual Oyster festival celebrated over nine days every July. Try one of the many local restaurants and pubs or visit the fresh fish market at the harbour.

The town has a strong arts culture. Wander through the quiet lanes and alleyways to discover craft shops, art galleries, and delicatessens. Visit the Whitstable Museum in Oxford Street or the 18th century castle overlooking the bay. Take a drive up the hill to Tankerton on Sea, with its pebble beach and colourful beach huts. See if you can spot the off-shore wind farm.
