The old gateway into the City, the Westgate Towers is one of England's finest medieval fortified gatehouses. Hundreds of pilgrims would have passed through here on their way to St Thomas Becket's shrine at the Cathedral. The Towers house a museum where guns and armaments are on display from the Civil War to World War Two. There are prison cells to be visited and replica armour for the children to try on. Look through the murder holes onto the road below.
